HELMET Confirm Split With INTERSCOPE
November 29, 2005As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on November 19, HELMET have now confirmed that they have have split with Interscope Records following the disappointing sales performance of their latest CD, "Size Matters", which came out in October 2004. The band "are currently in discussion with a number of other labels," reads a posting on the group's web site. "These discussions are going well, and we hope to announce the new label before the end of the year."
As previously reported, HELMET drummer John Tempesta (ex-WHITE ZOMBIE, ROB ZOMBIE, EXODUS, TESTAMENT) will be appearing in a live chat on www.zildjian.com on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at 9:00 p.m. EST to answer any questions and chat with fans.
HELMET enlisted Jeremy Chatelain (ex-HANDSOME, JETS TO BRAZIL) to handle the bass duties for most of their recent touring activities. Chatelain filled the slot left vacant by the departure of Frank Bello, who has since gone on to rejoin the reunited classic lineup of ANTHRAX.
